OFFICIAL RULES (The “Contest Rules”)

SAVE-ON-FOODS $1 MILLION DOLLAR SCORE AND WIN (the “Contest”)

THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY, EXCEPT QUEBEC, AND IS GOVERNED BY CANADIAN LAW

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS

1. MORE REWARDS

Enrollment in the MORE REWARDS Customer Loyalty Program (“MORE REWARDS”) is required to participate in the Contest. If you are not enrolled in MORE REWARDS, you may enroll online at www.morerewards.ca. By enrolling in the MORE REWARDS program, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the MORE REWARDS program as amended from time to time (available at: www.morerewards.ca).

2. CONTEST PERIOD AND ELIGIBILITY

The Contest will start on Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 am Pacific Time (“PT”) and end at the conclusion of the last National Hockey League (“NHL”) game played by a Team (defined below) during the 2025-2026 season (a “Game”) (the “Contest Period”). For greater certainty, a “Game” includes any NHL game played by a Team during the 2025-2026 regular or the Stanley Cup playoffs, as applicable. The Contest is open to all residents of Canada except Quebec who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and have a valid telephone number. The Contest is not open to employees, representatives or agents of Promotive LP (“Promotivate”), TSN, Rogers Sportsnet, NHL or any NHL Team (collectively, the “Contest Parties”).

3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Customers will automatically receive a Save-On-Foods $1 Million Dollar Score and Win entry every time they shop at any Pattison Food Group Ltd. (“PFG”) participating banner location in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Yukon providing that their MORE REWARDS Card is scanned or entered at the checkout. At the start of the Contest Period the participating PFG banners are Save-On-Foods and PriceSmart Foods. Customers will receive a bonus entry in participating PFG banner stores for each Save-On-Foods $1 Million Dollar Score and Win Featured Item purchased. Featured Items may change from time to time.

A MORE REWARDS member that uses their MORE REWARDS card at a participating MORE REWARDS partner location will also earn one (1) Contest entry per transaction. Visit www.morerewards.ca for a complete list of participating MORE REWARDS partners.

Entries are valid for a period of two (2) months, after which time the database may be cleared. Collection of entries will begin three (3) weeks prior to Contest Period.

4. PRIZES

4.1 PRIZE FOR FIVE (5) GOALS IN ONE (1) GAME:


Should any one (1) player on the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers or Winnipeg Jets (each a “Team”) score five (5) goals in one (1) Game (as recorded by the NHL official game scorer and excluding goals scored during a shootout), one (1) entrant, through the applicable Regionalized Random Draw (defined below), will be eligible to win an annuity paying $50,000 per year for 20 years. The payout is governed by Revenue Canada’s rules for Prescribed Annuities. Payment of any and all taxes, or other charges associated with the $1,000,000 annuity prize are the sole responsibility of the potential prize winner. Limit of one (1) $1,000,000 annuity prize winner during the Contest Period, after which time it may be discontinued. Payment of any and all taxes, or other charges associated with the $1,000,000 annuity prize are the sole responsibility of the potential prize winner.


4.2 PRIZE FOR FOUR (4) GOALS IN ONE (1) GAME:

Should any one (1) player on a Team score four (4) goals in one (1) Game (as recorded by the NHL official game scorer and excluding goals scored during a shootout), one (1) entrant, through the applicable Regionalized Random Draw will be eligible to win “Groceries for Life.” Groceries for Life will be awarded as $8,000 CAD in Save-On-Foods gift cards per year for 20 years. 

Limit of two (2) Grocery for Life prizes during the Contest Period, after which time it may be discontinued.

4.3 PRIZE FOR THREE (3) GOALS IN ONE (1) GAME:
Should any one (1) player on a Team score three (3) goals in one (1) Game (as recorded by the NHL official game scorer and excluding goals scored during a shootout), one (1) entrant, through the applicable Regionalized Random Draw, will be eligible to win “Groceries for a Year.” Groceries for a Year will be awarded as $8,000 CAD in Save-On-Foods gift cards.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: PRIZES FOR FIVE (5), FOUR (4) AND THREE (3) GOALS IN ONE GAME: The required number of goals must be scored by the SAME player in one (1) Game. In the event that a player scores five (5) goals in one (1) Game, neither the prize for scoring four (4) goals in one (1) Game (i.e. the Groceries for Life prize) or the prize for scoring three (3) goals in one (1) Game (i.e. the Groceries for a Year prize) will be awarded in relation to that Game. Further, in the event that a player scores four (4) goals in one (1) Game the prize for scoring three (3) goals in one (1) game will not be awarded in relation to that Game, unless all four (4) goal prizes have been claimed previously during the Contest Period. For the avoidance of any doubt, there is a limit of one (1) five (5) goal, four (4) goal or three (3) goal prize per Game, if applicable.

4.4 PRIZES FOR GOALS – OTHER PRIZES: In the event that a player scores one (1) goal during a Game, one (1) entrant, through the applicable Regionalized Random Draw, will be awarded one (1) of the following prizes, which shall be selected randomly in the applicable Regionalized Random Draw:

4.5 ODDS AND GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS

Odds of winning one of the above prizes depends upon the number of entries received in the applicable Regionalized Random Draw, and the number of goals scored in relevant Games.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, following general conditions apply to each prize (as applicable): (i) all prizes must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions (cash or otherwise); (ii) maximum of one (1) prize per household; (iii) Save-On-Foods gift cards are subject to the issuer’s terms and conditions and are not redeemable for cash except as required by law; (iv) prizes are not assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Promotivate in its sole and absolute discretion); (v) Promotivate reserves the right at any time to: (a) place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of a prize or any component thereof; and (b) substitute any prize for equal or greater value throughout the Contest Period (in its sole discretion); (vi) all characteristics and features of each prize, except as otherwise explicitly stated above, are at the Promotivate’s sole and absolute discretion; (vii) each prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein; and (viii) if a confirmed winner does not utilize any part(s) of a prize, then any such part(s) not utilized may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Promotivate, be forfeited in their entirety and, if forfeited, nothing will be substituted in their place.

5. WINNER SELECTION AND CONFIRMATION

5.1 WINNER SELECTION FOR THREE (3) GOALS, FOUR (4) GOALS AND FIVE (5) GOALS PRIZES:

One (1) entry is drawn from the applicable Regionalized Random Draw prior to each Game. If five (5) goals, four (4) goals, or three (3) goals are scored (excluding goals scored during a shootout), during a Game by a Team, Promotivate (hereafter sometimes referred to as the “Judges”), will make all reasonable efforts to contact the person whose name was drawn to award the applicable prize. If the Judges, acting reasonably, cannot contact the selected entrant, and/or the selected entrant fails to complete the steps set out under Rule 5.3 below, within ten (10) business days of the date of the relevant Game, another name will be drawn. And, for greater certainty, in such case, the selected entrant will forfeit all rights to the applicable prize. In the event that a new entrant is selected, such entrant will be selected and contacted in accordance with this Rule 5.1.

5.2 WINNER SELECTION FOR ONE (1) GOAL PRIZE:

Following the conclusion of each Game in which at least one (1) goal was scored by a Team, one (1) entry will be drawn from the applicable Regionalized Random Draw by the Judges for each such goal scored during such Game.

“Regionalized Random Draw” shall mean that that entries shall be sorted into four (4) different draws based on the entrant’s province of residence: residents of British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories are eligible for the Canucks’ draws; residents of Northern Alberta are eligible for the Oilers’ draws; residents of Southern Alberta are eligible for the Flames’ draws; residents of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are eligible for the Jets’ draws. Only residents who are eligible for the draw will be eligible to win a prize during a Game in which the applicable Team scores. As an illustrative example only, if three (3) goals are scored during an Edmonton Oilers Game by the same one (1) player on the Edmonton Oilers, then one (1) entrant, residing in Northern Alberta, will be selected from the Oilers’ draw.

5.3 WINNER CONFIRMATION:

NO ONE IS A WINNER UNLESS AND UNTIL PROMOTIVATE OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS THEM AS A WINNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE RULES. Before being declared a confirmed winner, each potential winner of a prize will be required to, within ten (10) business days of notification: (a) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid (which may, in the sole and absolute discretion of Promotivate, be administered online, by email or other electronic means, by telephone, or in Promotivate’s form of declaration and release); and (b) sign and return Promotivate’s declaration and release form.

By participating in the Contest and accepting a prize, the applicable winner: (i) confirms that he/she has read, understood and is in compliance with these Rules; (ii) grants all consents required, and authorizes the Contest Parties to broadcast, publish, disseminate and otherwise use his/her name, city/town/village and province/territory of residence, and any other likeness, in connection with any promotion and/or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and/or information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of the applicable prize, in any type of media worldwide and in perpetuity; (iii) accepts the applicable Prize as awarded; and (iv) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective agents, employees, representatives, officers, directors, members, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, their participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the applicable prize or any portion thereof.

Every confirmed winner will receive his/her prize within six (6) weeks after verification. If the $1,000,000 prize is awarded, the winner will be paid in accordance with the terms in Rule 4.1, if the Groceries for Life prize is awarded, the winner will be paid in accordance with the terms in Rule 4.2.

6. GENERAL CONDITIONS

All entrants and entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. Promotivate reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of compliance with these Rules (including, without limitation, proof of identity and/or eligibility) in a form acceptable to the Promotivate (including, without limitation, government-issued photo identification).

No correspondence will be entered into except with potential winners. Promotivate is the sole judge and its decision about any aspect of this contest shall be final and binding.

In consideration of being awarded a prize, each prize winner agrees to participate fully and without compensation in any announcement(s) and/or presentation ceremony/ceremonies and/or event or events organized or presented by Promotivate in its sole discretion related to the granting of a Prize to such Prize winner. PFG and Promotivate reserve the right to use winners’ names and/or photographs in any advertising or publicity, with no compensation to the winners. Potential winner names and city of residence may be televised on TSN, Rogers Sportsnet, and/or appear online.

The Released Parties shall not be responsible for any electronic network, computer problem or any other technical error of any kind. None of PFG, Contest Parties, Promotivate, nor any of the other Released Parties shall be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to the prizes awarded in this contest. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost or misdirected entries, computer/database failures or errors of any kind.

The Released Parties will not be responsible for any adjustments in scheduling of NHL hockey, TSN and/or Rogers Sportsnet telecasts or any event which may affect store operations or the NHL season, and thereby force the contest to cease operations either temporarily or permanently. Promotivate reserves the right to modify or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notification.

PFG and Promotivate reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to adjust any of the dates, timeframes and/or other Contest mechanics stipulated in these Rules, to the extent deemed necessary by PFG and Promotivate, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant, entry and/or other information with these Rules, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of PFG and Promotivate, in their sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason.

Entry into this contest constitutes acceptance of these Rules.
